Phil Newton
He was born in Liverpool, England a long time ago. He was educated at Merchant Taylors School, Crosby and the University of Birmingham where he graduated in 1977 with a degree in Ancient and Modern Greek.
His first job after studying was as the offal man in a chicken factory! He then spent two years in Greece as an assistant at the University of Ioannina. After that he worked in London for Scottish Television.
In 1980 he moved to Munich and has lived there ever since.
He divides his time between his four children, writing, translating, English teaching and composing and performing music. He co-wrote the music for the CD "Born in Bavaria" in 1996 and in 1999 brought out his solo CD "What You Hear Is What You Get". Both CDs are available from his website www.philnewton.de
